Mission & Purpose

BetterJustice is an independent public-interest initiative dedicated to the integrity of public decision-making systems.

Our Objectives

Advancing Education

To promote public understanding of the systems, procedures, and oversight mechanisms through which public decisions are made.

Promoting Systemic Integrity

To support the sound administration of public systems by providing evidence-led analysis of decision-making conditions and safeguarding frameworks.

BetterJustice was founded on the belief that fair outcomes depend not only on individual decisions, but on the integrity of the systems that surround them. In complex public environments, including safeguarding contexts where decisions are often made under uncertainty and time pressure, early assumptions or procedural pressures can shape outcomes in ways that are not always revisited.

Our approach is deliberately measured and non-confrontational. We focus on understanding how systems function under real-world conditions, rather than attributing fault to individuals or institutions.

Safeguarding is central to our focus. We view safeguarding as a protective framework that supports the maintenance of safety, neutrality, balance, and proportionality within public systems over time.

Our Perspective

"When people feel powerless to change their own circumstances, a sense of purpose can still be found in strengthening the systems that shape outcomes for others."

"BetterJustice was created from a recognition that public systems do not exist in the abstract. They affect real people, often at moments of vulnerability or uncertainty."

"This work is therefore not about blame or retrospection, but about stewardship. We seek to support processes that are fair, transparent, and worthy of public confidence."

Governance & Independence

BetterJustice is an independent initiative. We are currently formalising our governance structure to include an independent Board of Trustees, ensuring accountability and adherence to our public-interest mission.

Our work is conducted with strict independence from political influence, ensuring our analysis remains focused solely on systemic integrity and public benefit.
